This page describes how conclusions in our guides, compatibility notes, and technical explanations are reached—and where their limits are.
01 / Separate the layers
A dark Safari interface does not mean the page supports dark mode. A website's own theme is not the same as an extension-generated theme. Our articles name the layer responsible for a behavior instead of calling all three “Safari dark mode.”
02 / Read the implementation
Product-specific claims are checked against the current Swift app, Safari Web Extension, shared configuration, and dynamic rendering engine. We distinguish default behavior from optional settings and note important compatibility limits nearby.
03 / Test the task
For site guides, the useful questions are whether text remains readable, images keep their meaning, forms and menus work, navigation survives page changes, and the site’s native theme is respected. Results can change when a website changes its CSS or interface.
04 / Preserve uncertainty
Embedded documents, protected browser pages, cross-origin frames, canvas-based interfaces, and rapidly changing sites can require exceptions. We avoid universal compatibility claims and update a guide when the old conclusion no longer holds.
We do not use word count as a proxy for usefulness. An article should answer one search intent, show the practical decision, explain the mechanism when it matters, and link to the next useful step.
If a guide no longer matches Safari or a website, send the page URL, device type, system version, and a short description. A screenshot is helpful when it does not contain private information.
