Changelog & Updates
We are constantly improving Noxri to ensure you get the fastest, most reliable Safari dark mode experience on the App Store.
v1.8.1
New & Improved
- Settings app cold-start time reduced by ~40% — lazy-loaded the theme preview pane that previously blocked first paint.
- The extension popup now remembers your last-active tab (Sites / Themes / Schedule) across launches, so you don't land back on the home tab every time.
- Fixed a per-domain blacklist desync that occurred after switching between Safari Profiles — rules saved in Personal no longer leak into Work.
- Fixed a rare crash on iPhone SE (2nd gen) when toggling dark mode on pages with more than 2,000 inline SVG elements.
- Resolved a visual glitch where YouTube Shorts overlays (like button, subscribe prompt) briefly rendered at 100% opacity before fading to the dark-mode alpha.
v1.8
New & Improved
- Live Email Recoloring: Gmail web and iCloud Mail now stay dark when switching threads — dynamically inserted message bodies are recolored within 40ms via a new MutationObserver pipeline, removing the brief white flash that used to appear on every click.
- Streaming AI Chat Support: ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini web now render streaming tokens in dark mode from the first character. The ~200ms flash that showed up each time a new paragraph arrived is gone.
- Location-Aware Auto-Sync: Auto-Sync now uses your device's actual sunrise/sunset times instead of a fixed 6 PM–6 AM window, so dark mode kicks in at the real horizon for your latitude.
- Korean Typography Polish: Fine-tuned letter-spacing and font smoothing for Hangul on dark backgrounds — Naver, Namuwiki, and Daum now render noticeably crisper on OLED screens.
- Fixed an issue on iOS 18.3.1 where Auto-Sync could stop firing after you enabled Private Browsing and reopened the tab.
- Fixed inverted signature logos in iCloud Mail rich-text emails — embedded brand images were being flipped to blue/orange. They're now preserved via an image-protection heuristic.
- Fixed hairline white table borders on Namuwiki article pages; unified to the site's dark border palette.
- Fixed a layout shift in the Safari extension popup when toggling the switch while the device was in landscape orientation.
v1.7
New & Improved
- Amazon Checkout Stays Dark: Card entry and address forms on Amazon checkout now render in dark mode. Previously these steps fell back to white because they're embedded in third-party payment iframes — Noxri now injects CSS into compatible payment iframes so the entire flow stays consistent.
- Amazon Product Image Fidelity: Product images are no longer inverted to pink/cyan casts on listing and detail pages. Added an Amazon CDN image-domain allowlist so product photography renders at its original color.
- Lower CPU on Infinite Scroll: Throttled MutationObserver callbacks to ~30fps on feed-heavy sites like Twitter/X and Reddit, cutting CPU usage by roughly 15% during long scrolling sessions.
- Search in Per-Site Rules: Added a search bar to the Settings app's blacklist / allowlist list — find any saved domain by typing instead of scrolling.
- Fixed a regression where the extension popup's toggle could display the wrong state (ON as OFF) after Safari woke from a long sleep.
- Fixed inconsistent dark mode on cloud.google.com/console where the sidebar briefly lost its tint when navigating between projects.
- Fixed a slow memory leak that caused extension slowdowns after ~30 minutes of continuous browsing.
